Self-Assessment Income Support Scheme Grant (SEISS) – Update

The Government has announced that the self-employed eligible for the first SEISS Grant will be able to claim a second grant from August.

If as self-employed the first grant was not claimed, the second and final grant will be available to claim.

The eligibility for both grants is the same and the self-employed business must have been adversely affected by the Covid-19 Crisis.

The SEISS Grant will be calculated at 70% of 3 months profit based on the average self-employed income over the past 3 tax years 2017, 2018 and 2019.

The maximum payable will be £6,570

The grant is taxable and must be reported on the 2021 Self-Assessment Return.

Self-employed who are eligible for the first SEISS Grant and have not yet claimed may claim until 13th July 2020

Further information will be available after 12th June
